Why Gravel Driveways Wash Out
Almost every driveway problem comes back to water and base. Stone laid flat on soft ground with no crown lets rain settle into the tire paths, and each storm shifts and moves more gravel. A proper base, a slight crown, and somewhere for water to go are what make a driveway last.

We start by walking the driveway with you to see where water sits, where the ruts form, and how it is being used. From there we plan the grade, the base, and the stone so the finished driveway fits your property instead of a one-size-fits-all fix.
Crushed Limestone Driveways
Crushed limestone is a common choice for rural gravel driveways because the angular stone locks together when it is compacted. The stone only holds up if the ground under it is right, so we start with a proper base, shape a slight crown so rain runs off, and compact the limestone so it stays put instead of rutting. On a repair, that usually starts with regrading and reshaping the existing driveway before any new stone goes down.
Recent Driveway Projects
New gravel driveway in Pendleton. For a customer’s new garage, we removed the topsoil, then installed and compacted #53 crushed limestone.
Driveway expansion in Knightstown. We expanded an existing driveway and regraded it.
Driveway washout repair in Anderson. A long driveway through the woods down to the White River kept washing out when it rained. Riprap and #2 limestone went into the problem areas, then everything was graded and compacted to hold the driveway in place.
Driveway regrade in Muncie. The old driveway was ripped up, fresh stone brought in, graded and compacted.
